A wonderful weekend vacation would be to Tofte Minnesota. There is a neat little resort called Bluefin Bay (www.bluefinbay.com). This resort is on the shore of Lake Superior.
Although it is open year around we like to go there late in the winter and there is nothing more relaxing than building a fire in their wood burning fire places and listening to the fire crack as is burns. We have in the past opened the window or stepped out on the deck to take in the sounds of the waves as they crash on the shore. There really is nothing quite like it.
During the day the resort offers opportunites to ice skate on there rink, cross country skiing, dog sledding,sleigh rides, sledding, intertubing and snow shoeing all free of charge as well as supplying the equipment.
If you enjoy down hill skiing, Lutsen mountains only minutes away.
At night the you are invited to join in bonfires built by the staff and make yummy smores while watching movies over their ice skating rink on a large screen.
They have both indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs to kick back and relax in.
Not far from the pool on the resorts grounds is a massage therapist that offers massages with appointment.
wether it is to recreation and play or to get away and collect yourself, I always feeling refreshed.
There literally is nothing that is not taken care of for you as Bluefin has to wonderful restaurants right on the property, Bluefin Grill and Coho Cafe. They serve absolutely delicious food, three meals a day as well as drinks and music for the adults desiring a night out. Please come and enjoy and you will always be welcomed by a kind staff ready to serve you. |
